There is a lot of whining on the North Dakota tag; mostly about the weather. While I’m quite fond of “It’s Better In The Middle”, I find myself considering: “North Dakota, It’s Not For Pussies”.

    Too much?

    Just right.

The book trailer for Prairie Silence by Melanie Hoffert. Hoffert will be reading from the book—a memoir on leaving North Dakota and why she still feels drawn back—at Zandbroz Variety on Saturday night.

Read our writeup on Melanie and her new book here.

  6. Mouse River Rollers Recruiting!

    cirk-urk:

The Mouse River Rollers, Minot’s only local roller derby league, are recruiting for our 2013 season! We’ve got a full season of games coming out, and would love to see people come out to learn to skate and play with us this season. Come check out our recruitment on January 13, 15 or 20th, try on some gear (first come, first serve), see a demonstration of flat track roller derby, and ask any questions!

Derby is a great way to lose weight, make friends in Minot, and to get active! We’re looking for female skaters and male or female refs!  Check out the event for more info! I can answer any questions you have!

You know you are in North Dakota when your dad asks you if you have any music that is more Caucasian.

The thing about winter on campus is that you can’t laugh at people who slip on ice or slush because it’s just going to happen to you right after.
